About Tatrice

Those are the statistics. This is how I serve.

Certified MonitriceCertified Holistic DoulaMamatoto Secretary

I have spent more than 15 years in birth education, consulting, and direct birth support. I am a Certified Monitrice and Certified Holistic Doula. I have supported dozens of families, raised six children, and have more than 20 years of lived experience with homebirth.

But those numbers do not quite explain how I serve. I organize my work around keeping families connected: to one another, to useful knowledge, to their own bodies, to the people caring for them, and to the wisdom they will need long after I leave the room.

I am a student for life. I value learning beyond what is immediately required of me, and when something is unfamiliar, we learn together.

How I serve

Always learning, so your family can keep what we learn

Clear, usable knowledge

I study medical terminology and keep up with current medical trends so I can translate clinical information into language a family can actually understand and use.

Comfort and nourishment

I study herbs, homeopathy, food, spices, and comfort because care should not merely be functional. The soup can nourish you, taste good, and make you feel cared for at the same time.

Culture and civility

As a traditional birth attendant, I study what matters to people personally. Courtesy, boundaries, and customs matter, including how to enter a family's space, honor what they value, and disagree without destroying connection.

Creativity

Art, language, storytelling, imagination, and making things with our hands help us understand what we know, express what we cannot yet say, prepare for what is coming, and remember what matters. It is part of how I teach and how I care.

Financial flexibility

I study the financial markets because parents need flexibility in how they earn and provide. Adaptable income streams are becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity, and financial learning helps families plan for the freedom they may need as life changes.

Learning together

When something is unfamiliar, we learn side by side. You understand what is happening, we ask better questions, and we make decisions together.

My promise

Care that leaves you more capable

The knowledge I have earned is not meant to keep you dependent on me. It is meant to be transferred to your family, and what we learn becomes yours to keep.

I am deeply loyal to the families I serve. I am with you in the preparation, the questions, the pivots, the learning, and the becoming.

I do not believe good care makes itself indispensable. I believe good care leaves a family more informed, more capable, more connected, and more able to recognize what serves them.
